New flights to London, Dublin, Prague and Bratislava starting in October 2007

Košice Airport will launch the following new flights to/from European destinations with Boeing 737-700 aircraft as of 30 October 2007: 3 weekly flights to London, 3 weekly flights to Dublin, 7 weekly flights to Prague and 22 weekly flights to Bratislava. The additional flights are expected to increase the number of passengers handled at Košice Airport by 250,000 per year.

These new routes are the result of an agreement with SkyEurope, which was concluded with the support of the Chairman of VUC Košice (Košice region) Zdenko Trebula and Mayor of Košice František Knapík. The new flights will give the entire region of Eastern Slovakia greater access to air travel. Michael Höferer, CEO of Košice Airport s.a., commented, “Sky Europe, which is based at Bratislava and Vienna Airports, started operations from Vienna to 16 European destinations in March of this year and has recorded excellent growth. We are pleased to also welcome their additional flights to Košice.” Vienna Airport plc is part of a consortium that owns 66% of Košice Airport s.a. All types of travelers – commuters, tourists and visitors traveling to Prague, Bratislava, London and Dublin – will benefit from this new offering. In addition, the direct flights will give the Slovakian communities in these cities new opportunities to visit relatives in Eastern Slovakia more frequently. VUC and the city of Košice will support this project by increasing the number of regular bus lines between the airport and the city, whereby the bus schedule will be adjusted to meet the proposed flight plan.
